Annual KKB Kilkenny City Awards 2017:   Will take place in Late October 2017. Attendance  will be by invitation.  Details of the event and  award results will be  posted.

“Creating a Cultural Strategy”  drop in review took   place on  Friday   23rd June  2017 at the River Court Hotel , John st Kilkenny between  12.30-2.30 pm. . The Cultural Services Section (Heritage, Arts and Libraries) of Kilkenny County Council are creating a Cultural Strategy for County Kilkenny.  We would love you to   share your ideas and you can also do it on line.

Workshop:Preparation & Appreciation of a Pollinator-Friendly Urban Landscape. A workshop on pollinators, their food and habitat requirements, actions to help them and a visit to planting schemes in Kilkenny Castle grounds took place on the May 27th 2017, 10am – 2pm  Club House Hotel, Patrick Street, Kilkenny.

 

Dawn Chorus,  The Kilkenny Branch of Birdwatch Ireland held it’s annual Dawn Chorus on Sunday May 14 in Jenkinstown Wood.

KKB attended National Tidy Towns Awards  presentation in Skerries:   It took place on  Saturday  May 5th, congratulations  to Skerries on the great day.

 

A  very successful Balsam  invasive plant removal campaign has been undertaken  over the summer  months  with many volunteers assisting to clear all balsam from Talbots inch to Ossory bridge.Further maintenance picks  continued through out the summer to ensure this area remained clear of Himalayan Balsam.Email us at mail@keepkilkennybeautiful.com  or ring  086-1075532 to get details.

Ring road challenge clean up,  in conjunction with State Street,  congratulations on the completion of the Ring road challenge, a full clean up of the overall ring road  took place on 10th May 2017.

River bank  clean up took place on the 11 March  2017 in conjunction with Kilkenny Acqa Canoe Club (KACC) .   Contact  roger@bluewall.ie  see also  http://kacc.ie/ .
