Murals in Kilkenny

Our city has had many creative and fantastic murals. These  are generally commissioned for specific  locations by Kilkenny Co Co, local businesses and voluntary groups  and also by Keep Kilkenny Beautiful. Repairs and cleaning of important murals is also undertake as required. This work in conjunction with a “spray it over” and “clean it off” policy has meant that Kilkenny has a very low level of graffitti through out our city.

Arts Festival in Beautiful Kilkenny City

Kilkenny Arts festival 2017  commenced in warm sunny weather. There were large crowds  attending the many street events which took place during the opening weekend.  Great colour  was to be seen and the flower displays were fantastic. Congratulations to all!

Busy Class from Colaiste Pobail Osrai

Congratulations to all the pupils from Colaiste Pobail Osrai for all their hard work and their spring clean of the pedestrian and cycle way serving the Fairways, Beech Lawns, the Orchard and Pococke.

On 27th April,  16 first year students, with their teacher Caoimhin, picked up litter along the Fairways walk way. They were participating in Neat Streets, an anti litter programme for Secondary Schools. After 90 minutes 18 bags of rubbish and a trolley had been removed. Great credit is due to the friendly and enthusiastic students of Colaiste Pobail Osrai for the smashing job they did.

Kilkenny spruces up for a royal visit

Preparations are being made  to welcome Prince Charles to Kilkenny City. No doubt Kilkenny Castle and the  wonderful Castle Park will be on his tour. The Parade looks fantastic and  the weekly farmers  market will be in full swing  during the visit on Thursday to our City.
