Sub aqua Club go to all depths to Keep Kilkenny Beautiful

Kilkenny  Sub aqua Club  have taken our spring clean campaign  one step further ! ….. with under water cleaning.  Items washed down the river Nore  in times of river floods get caught at the bottom of the river and can be a danger to swimmers, boating  and to wildlife. Unfortunately there are also  items such as bicycles, bottles, traffic cones and  shopping trolleys  found.  The divers locate the  items to be removed which are then marked with buoys.  They are  then raised to boats and   brought for authorised disposal.

Lions Club cleans up!

The Lions club  Joined with the KKB to  assist in a very successful clean up on   Saturday 8th at 10.30am . The volunteers met  at the Watershed car park just off the Boharnatownish road.  The clean up was  along the Ring road and lough boy areas of the City .  The fantastic summer weather was appreciated by all !

Well done to Kilkenny Sub Aqua Club

The Sub Aqua Club did more than their fair share of helping keep their city beautiful with a huge effort from their members in cleaning up the river Nore during the week. Our river Nore is one of our city’s amazing resources and this group of dedicated volunteers collected much as a result of others not appreciating it.  Throwing rubbish in the river does not make it disappear!!!!!! subaqua
