Kilkenny City\u00a0 is taking part in the “one million trees in one day” initiative. We are currently working with our City Authorities and\u00a0 Residents associations\u00a0 to identify and prepare suitable planting locations within our City. The\u00a0 tree planting\u00a0\u00a0 is to take place during the period\u00a0 Friday 22nd March 2013 \u2013 Saturday 23rd March 2013. Planting will begin at 12 noon on Friday and will finish at 12 noon on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The River Nore and associated wooded areas and meadows reach right into our City centre.\u00a0 The planting of new trees\u00a0\u00a0 along the river Nore as part of this initiative\u00a0 will enhance our Environment and be of benefit to our wildlife and biodiversity.<\/p>\n
