The Black Abbey church founded in 1225\u00a0 is the focal point of Black Abbey square and the Abbey street area.\u00a0 Adjacent are elements of the medieval Kilkenny City walls and the Black Freren Gate,\u00a0 which is the sole remaining Kilkenny City gate still in place.\u00a0 There are wonderful walks through\u00a0 the medieval streets and lanes in this historic quarter of Kilkenny City.<\/p>\n
