What a fantastic\u00a0 resource we have\u00a0 through our City with the\u00a0 River Nore and its wooded banks.\u00a0 The spread of invasive species including Himalayan balsam and giant hog weed\u00a0 \u00a0within the river Nore corridor\u00a0 \u00a0through Kilkenny city\u00a0 has been\u00a0 been halted\u00a0 and\u00a0 our ongoing inspections and\u00a0 management\u00a0 has see a major decline in their occurrence. This has allowed the strong\u00a0 re-establishment of native Irish riverside species of plants and shrubs which help to stablise the river banks.<\/p>\n
