KKB have coordinated with\u00a0 Kilkenny Sustainable Energy Community\u00a0 the\u00a0 2022\u00a0 Kilkenny Energy Expo which is to take place\u00a0 27th November 2022,\u00a0 \u00a02-5pm at\u00a0 St. Canice’s Community Hall, Butts Green Kilkenny.\u00a0 \u00a0All are welcome.<\/p>\n
Keep Kilkenny Beautiful are running the first of what they hope we will be regular range of\u00a0 events, to help people learn about how to reduce energy bills and improve the comfort of our homes.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year as part of their work on entering the Sustainable \u201cDoing More with Less\u201d<\/em> category in the National Tidy Towns Competition, KKB\u00a0 set up the first Sustainable Energy Community in Kilkenny city. With support from the South East Energy Agency and mentor Therese Curran,\u00a0 KKB have launched\u00a0 the first \u2018Energy Expo\u2019<\/em> in Kilkenny, to help citizen learn how they can reduce their bills.<\/p>\n A number of our\u00a0 KKB volunteers, who have made changes themselves, had noticed how there was a lack of accurate information about retrofitting, EV\u2019s and other measures that can really make a difference to the bills we all face. With the support of Keep Kilkenny Beautiful, the\u00a0 \u2018Energy Expo\u2019 was\u00a0 launched.<\/p>\n The aim of this event is\u00a0 help people discover on a practical basis how they can save on energy by availing of grants for insulation measures or solar panels.\u00a0 St Canice’s Credit Union will be on hand to explain how they can help customers to bridge any shortfall on the cost. Some citizens are entitled to a free energy upgrade and group members will be available\u00a0 to advise on how to apply.<\/p>\n There will be some providers of services\u00a0 at the event to advise people what can be done and what is involved in terms of the work and timelines.
