Kilkenny City represents Ireland in the international  “Communities in Bloom” competition 2015.

The announcement of the international winners in the competition took place  in  Kamloops Western Canada  in early  October 2015.

Kilkenny achieved an award of 5 rosettes / bronze.

Rothe House Gardens  received special mention.

Kilkenny City represents Ireland in the international  “Communities in Bloom” competition 2015.

The Judging took  place in Kilkenny City on the 10th July 2015 when we welcomed Evelyn Alemanni and Mauro Paradisi, the Communities in Bloom International Judges to tour our City and see the best Kilkenny.  There was an extensive list of  judging criteria including; Tidiness,  Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation    Urban forestry,   Landscape      and       Floral Displays all of which  were assessed.

Extensive preparations for the Judging day took place throughout our City.

 

The Judges made a number of awards  for outstanding achievements in our City following the judging.   These included:

–  Dunmore Recycling and Refuse Disposal Centre.

–  Talbot Tower restoration.

–  Rothe House Medieval gardens.
