Kilkenny City wins in National Tidy Towns 2013

Kilkenny City has performed very strongly in the 2013 National Tidy Towns competition. Presentations took place in Dublin on the 9th September 2013. Receiving a total of 313 marks, Kilkenny was placed just 3 marks behind the overall National Tidy Town winner Moynalty, Co Meath. Chairman David Fitzgerald complemented the hard work and commitment of the Citizens of Kilkenny, City Authorities and the many Voluntary Organisations in achieving such a result for Kilkenny City.

Kilkenny city received the following awards:

South East Regional Award
Gold Medal
County Award
Tourism Towns Award

KKB Committee celebrate following the National awards presentations 2013

Kilkenny improved a total of 4 marks in the following categories.

Overall development approach.
Landscaping.
Litter control.
Roads streets and back areas.

Free recycle collection at Cillin Hill, 28th September

The last Kilkenny City electrical collection for 2013 will take place on the 28^th of Sept 2013 in Cillin Hill. Recycle your household electrical waste (WEEE) for free. Remember if you miss this date – you can bring your household electrical waste to Dunmore Recycling Centre free of charge all year around!

Regular group pick ups are organised by KKB but there are also an amazing handful of people who do pick ups individually in their own area. Thanks Frank for Keeping Kilkenny Beautiful!
