Many thanks to Statestreet Bank for volunteering to undertake a comprehensive summer clean with KKB of the historic St Maul’s graveyard, this including cleaning, painting trimming and digging! The grave yard is a quiet haven within a bustling city.
Congratulations to all St Kieran’s Crescent residents assisted by Keep Kilkenny Beautiful who undertook a clean up and spring clean of their estate. Good weather allowed for a lot of work of work be undertaken. Green waste from edge trimming and weeding was all taken for composting, three shopping trolleys were returned to the supermarket. A litter collection also took place.
Kilkenny City Harriers and KKB successfully completed the City wide litter pick challenge! It was a good day for all. see also Facebook Kilkenny City Harriers
The new Callan road city pop up park development has commenced. There is a 2 year programme of works and events planned. Invasive weeds are being removed. An insect reserve and wild flower garden area is to be protected. A survey of existing plants has been undertaken. Initial grass cutting of access paths and cleaning took place on mid summers day and this was followed by a KKB pop up BBQ!
SOS on the Callan Road are busy again. This group of dedicated Kilkenny residents have taken on the task of keeping the Callan road up to standard for the summer. They will now be eligible to enter the draw for the Bruce Springstein tickets as part of the Bruce Spring-Clean. Best of luck.
Why not consider helping them on their weekly clean-up or on any other KKB clean-up.
