There are some really nice photographs of insects plants and wild life.
The red admiral butterfly is very particular about the flower it visits! A sunny afternoon in early September on Circular road there are some very popular flowers that get more than their fair share of butterfly attention.
Orchids are a most beautiful but endangered flower. Kilkenny City is working to protect its rare flowers and their associated habitats. It is wonderful to visit and see the orchids bloom again this year.
The area is protected from mowing by the Local Residents association during the summer flowering season. This species may be the common spotted orchid (dactylorhiza fuchsii).
