Truce day commemoration event    at the Closh 

KKB hosted a truce day commemoration event    at the Closh  on  the 11th  July 2021.
This included a flag Raising and Tree Planting Event. this was the  first action
in the creation of a GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE & REFLECTIONcommemorating the War of Independence and in particular the role played by women.

How Tidy Towns can Contribute Positively to your Community

Nora Darcy, Keep Kilkenny Beautiful Committee member presented a paper titled “How Tidy Towns can Contribute Positively to your Community” at the Town Clerks Annual Conference 2011 which took place in Clonmel on the 12-13 of May 2011. The Conference was hosted by the IPA (Institute of Public Administration). The themes included:
– Creating great places to live, work and visit.
– Turning houses into homes.
– Keep Kilkenny Beautiful, because it is beautiful.
– Tidy towns, Creating a better community.
