Congratulations to all who worked together to plant some 1000 native trees at Bishopsmeadows in Kilkenny. The weather was ideal, on the day with spring warmth! The planting was sponsored and coordinated by Tree Services Ireland who have an aim to plant 2 trees for every tree removed. The work was undertaken by a large number of volunteers working with KKB and local residents.

Nationwide in Kilkenny
Keep Kilkenny Beautiful were very pleased to welcome Mary Kennedy and the Nationwide team to Kilkenny.
Some of the many attractions of our Beautiful city were visited. This included the wonderful boardwalk and the river Nore linear park part of which extends from Kilkenny city centre out to Ossory pedestrian bridge. The walk forms a loop along both river banks and is very popular with walkers, joggers and cyclists. There is also a branch of the walk all of the way to Bennettsbridge along the river Nore.
The Nationwide programme on Kilkenny is planned to be broadcast by RTE1 on Wednesday 14th September, do not forget to tune in!
